The state of Maryland experienced an outage on Tuesday October 14, 2014 in the primary telecommunications hardware supporting voicemail and automated attendants used by certain State Agencies. Officials from the Department of Information Technology immediately took action to minimize the impact of the outage, and is targeting to have the system operational by Monday, October 20, 2014.

In the interim, the State is working with agencies to modify call routing to minimize the impact of the outage, and will continue to work with agencies until a permanent fix is in place. If citizens have difficulty reaching a state agency by phone, citizens can engage agencies through the respective web sites and social media channels. Agencies will post instructions to their websites as changes are made.
