Online Services Review
One of the stated Guidelines is that Maryland web sites should be "CITIZEN-ORIENTED":
Maryland.gov is the official web site for the State of Maryland and is the primary one-stop-shop for connecting citizens and visitors to government information and services. This includes:
- Online services/content aggregated by topic, geography, business or individual (seniors/teens/kids pages, etc.)
- There must be consistent communication channels between agencies and DoIT to ensure information and services are current and mapped into Maryland.gov
Effective October 2008, Maryland.gov contains approximately 140 online services (featured on the Statewide Nav Bar). These items have been placed into a spreadsheet for review purposes (click here to view the
Online Services Inventory). Please review the items for your agency on this list according to the following checklist:
- Is the URL valid?
- Is the name clear? Will the citizen understand what type of action they can complete when they read the link?
- Is the item Transactional or Informational?
- Mark your recommended changes clearly on the worksheet by highlighting the text or cells with bold font or colored background.
Please add new items that represent services your agency provides to citizens that are not included on the list.
Submit a copy of the revised worksheet to webcom@doit.state.md.us by November 1, 2008.
