Open Data Portal​​

The Maryland Open Data Portal provides numerous geographic and non-geographic datasets that are available for search and exploration. Built-in tools allow for visualization of the data in table, graph, dashboard or map format. The Portal is managed by DOIT with contributions from many State and Local agencies.​​

Service Level Objective (SLO):

The Open Data Portal has a 99.9% uptime service level objective; excluding planned outages, maintenance windows and unavoidable events.

Features and Benefits:

The Open Data Portal provides centralized access to thousands of datasets made available from agencies throughout the State of Maryland. The Portal allows users to visualize, filter, explore, and export high value public information, including:

  • Property assessment records maintained by the State Department of Assessments and Taxation and Maryland Department of Planning
  • Payments made by State Agencies
  • Over 600 Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data layers available through MD iMAP. Data is maintained and updated and new data layers are added regularly.

 

Datasets from various State agencies and local partners, including economic, demographic, and transportation data. The Open Data Portal has partnerships which allow other Maryland jurisdictions to link to their datasets and maps directly in our centralized search catalog. These include:

Open Data Portal users can:

  • Download full or filtered data layers in multiple formats or access data layers for local use.
  • Use built-in, web-based tools to quickly visualize data or make on the fly dashboards.
  • Access built-in API’s for developers to quickly bring State data resources into their web and desktop applications.
  • Use built-in tools to easily embed datasets or content created on the Open Data Portal into other websites.

Availability (Uptime): 24 hours / 365 days

Standard Support Hours: 7am – 9pm Monday- Friday

Exceptions: The Service Desk is not available during State Holidays or Service Reduction Days

Response (to incident) Time: Based on priority, see SLA

Resolution (of incident) Time: Based on priority, see SLA

Maintenance Windows: The primary maintenance windows for the site are determined by the vendor. Planned maintenance and issues are posted at http://status.socrata.com

Security: Open Access, No password required

Business Critical Service: Yes; Recovery Time – 4 hours​
