Statewide Cybersecurity Training Request Form

The Maryland Department of Labor, in partnership with the Maryland Department of Information Technology (DoIT) and the Employment Advancement Right Now (EARN) Maryland program grantee BCR Cyber will provide cybersecurity training to Maryland state and local government employees. This Statewide training will include BCR Cyber’s Cybersecurity Operational Methods Education Training (“COMET”) which consists of both Incumbent and Advanced Incumbent Training.
Training requests are only for
State and Local Government Employees at this time.
State Requirements are as follows:
- Employees who were not selected for prior Cyber Range training sessions,
- Minimum satisfactory PEP rating, and
- Whose IT role has direct or indirect responsibility for maintaining cybersecurity within their departments.
Local Requirements are as follows:
- Local Managers (CIO, CISO, IT Director or their superior) must provide their recommendation for one qualified candidate to take the one per course via email to

- Whose IT role has direct or indirect responsibility for maintaining cybersecurity within their departments.

If chosen to participate in this training opportunity:
- Manager approval will be required to proceed in the process.
- It is expected that all work to support your State or Local position will still need to be completed during the weeks of training.
- A subsequent application form that captures certain demographic data will need to be completed. Participants may also be required to provide data upon completion of training.
