The mission of Enterprise Information Services (EIS) is to provide leadership in information technology services by supporting the State’s technology goals with a proactive, customer service focus. EIS provides a full range of information technology (IT) services for the Executive Office of the Governor (EOG) and the Department of Budget & Management (DBM). EIS is tasked with ensuring that IT solutions fully support business processes, that the solutions result in the greatest benefit for the State, and that the chosen solutions are cost-effectively developed, implemented and maintained. Support services include, but are not limited to the following:
The Security Services team provides State agencies with a common statewide strategy for secure, effective, and technically sound use of the State's information technology resources. The team is responsible for the establishment of Security Policies, Security Guidance, Security Awareness, and is a source of IT security information for State agencies.
Security Services also manages accessibility to statewide applications including the Financial Management Information System (FMIS), Office of Personnel Services and Benefits, and Central Collections. In support of EOG and DBM, Security Services is responsible for secure and reliable access to data as well as network infrastructure.
Local Area Network
The Local Area Network (LAN) team provides internal desktop, network support, and mobile messaging solutions for EOG and DBM. The team has been successful in implementing a virtual server environment and storage area network.
Customer Service Desk (Please note: access to this page requires connectivity to the Statewide Government Intranet (SwGI)
The Customer Service Desk provides support to all Maryland State Agencies utilizing mainframe applications, supports inquiries and requests from citizens concerning MARYLAND.GOV and the DBM web sites, and develops and provides training related to FMIS and other DBM-managed applications.
The Technical Services team provides database and technical support to ensure the integrity of data for statewide administrative processes for accounting, purchasing, asset management, and time/leave accounting associated with FMIS.
