Two-Way Radio 2013 Master Contract - Functional Areas

All tower facility maintenance, repair and support services are excluded from this master contract. Further, security cameras, desktop computers, and non-ruggedized laptops are excluded.

Functional Area I - Two Way Radio Equipment

The acquisition of brand or generic name equipment to include but not limited to

  • Portable radios and radio accessories,
  • Mobile radios and mobile radio accessories,
  • Base stations and base station accessories,
  • Ancillary radio equipment including, but not limited to radio over IP (ROIP) equipment, interconnection equipment, data products, system and radio network management equipment, GPS systems, mobile video network appliances, mobile cameras, aircraft radios, mobile data terminals*, associated radio equipment.  
    *"Mobile Data Terminals" (MDT) shall include ruggedized laptops meeting MIL-STD-810G intended to be mounted within a fleet vehicle. The definition of MDT shall not include mobile phones, tablet computers, or non-ruggedized laptops.

Functional Area II - Communications Consoles and Associated Equipment

The acquisition of brand or generic name equipment to include but not limited to:

  • Desktop and computer aided dispatch radio communications consoles and accessories,
  • Telephone instant playback recorders and accessories,
  • Audio monitor panels,
  • Associated equipment.

Functional Area III - Installation, Repair and Preventative Maintenance Services

Installation, repair and preventative maintenance services will be defined at the PORFP level. Services under Functional Area III may include, but are not limited to:

  • Mobile communications equipment installation,
  • Fixed communications equipment installation,
  • Microwave communications equipment installation,
  • Preventive, routine and emergency repair and maintenance of fixed and mobile communications equipment,
  • Preventive, routine and emergency repair and maintenance of microwave communications equipment,
  • Design, integration, training and optimization services.

Master Contractors shall perform the installation, removal and reinstallation of all Functional Area I & II Products, including but not limited to:

Mobile radios and associated mobile radio equipment to include but not limited to:

  • Vehicular repeaters
  • Vehicular chargers (portable units)
  • Antennas (to include duplexers/diplexers)
  • Mounting brackets or consoles
  • Interconnection equipment
  • Fixed based radios and associated equipment to include but not limited to: • Base stations
  • Communications consoles
  • Base antennas
  • Base station remote control stations
  • Interconnection equipment
  • System management equipment
  • Vehicle emergency lighting equipment to include but not limited to: • Light bars
  • Rotating beacons
  • Strobe lights
