Cybersecurity Education-EARN Maryland

Cybersecurity Training and Certification Opportunity

The Maryland Department of Labor, in partnership with the Maryland Department of Information Technology (DoIT) and the Employment Advancement Right Now (EARN) Maryland program grantee BCR Cyber will provide cutting edge cybersecurity training to Maryland state government employees. This Statewide training will include BCR Cyber’s Cybersecurity Operational Methods Education Training (“COMET”) which consists of both Incumbent and Advanced Incumbent Training.

The Incumbent Training Session provides cybersecurity training and preparation for the CompTIA Security+ certification. The Security+ certification is an industry standard that demonstrates the trainee has the knowledge and skills required to securely administer and manage IT / cyber systems.

The Advanced Incumbent Training will train, test, and certify state employees who have more than five (5) years of IT experience for the Certified Information Security Systems Professional Certification (“CISSP”), an advanced International Information System Security Certification Consortium (“(ISC)²”) certificate which is required for efforts involving the design and implementation of most government IT systems architectures.

If interested, and meet the requirements for the training, please complete the State Cybersecurity Training Request Form. If chosen, you will receive additional application materials to complete.

Please email cyber.training@maryland.gov with any questions.
