Cybersecurity Training

Cybersecurity Training and Certification Opportunity

The Maryland Department of Labor, in partnership with the Maryland Department of Information Technology (DoIT) and the Employment Advancement Right Now (EARN) Maryland program grantee Baltimore Cyber Range LLC (Baltimore Cyber), will provide cutting edge cybersecurity training to one hundred (100) Maryland state government employees. This Statewide training will include Baltimore Cyber Range's Cybersecurity Operational Methods EducationTraining (“COMET") which consists of both Incumbent and Advanced Incumbent Training.

The Incumbent Training is based on Baltimore Cyber's existing employer-infused Intrusion
Countermeasures Education Training (“ICE-T") model and will be provided to state
employees with more than one year of IT experience. This model was developed by Baltimore Cyber for the Maryland Department of Labor's EARN workforce development program.

The Advanced Incumbent Training will train, test, and certify state employees who have more than five (5) years of IT experience for the Certified Information Security Systems Professional Certification (“CISSP"), an advanced International Information System Security Certification Consortium (“(ISC)²") certificate which is required for efforts involving the design and implementation of most government IT systems architectures.

If interested, and meet the requirements for the training, please complete the State Cybersecurity Training Request Form. If chosen, you will receive additional application materials to complete.

Please email cyber.training@maryland.gov with any questions.
