The Maryland Department of Information Technology (DoIT) offers MD iMAP, Maryland’s high-performance Geographic Information Systems (GIS) platform. This platform provides cost-effective, reliable GIS services and support whether you are just starting out or looking to get more out of your current GIS implementation. Customers are provided access to GIS data and web services, GIS training and GIS hosting and staff with decades of dedicated knowledge and experience in the field of GIS. For customers exclusively seeking software, we offer software through our Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Software catalog listing.

Before service can be provisioned, the customer must meet the following requirements:

- Internet access
- Installation of desktop client software
- Server and storage allocation

Technical |
- To publish GIS data and web services, customers must be able to create map document containing source data, symbols, labels, and context
- Firewall configured to allow for port 8080 traffic
- Customer must have appropriate hardware specifications to be able to run desktop client software

Non-Technical |
- All source data must be provided with detailed descriptions, owners, keywords, field names, last updated date, expected update frequency
- Registration for training courses
