Maryland Cybersecurity Coordinating Council

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The Maryland Cybersecurity Coordinating Council (MCCC) advises and oversees a consistent cybersecurity strategy for Maryland State government agencies and institutions under the control of the higher education governing board. It advises and consults with the Legislative and Judicial branches of State government to improve the state’s cybersecurity strategy. Finally, in consultation with the Attorney General, MCC develops guidance for consistent cybersecurity strategies for counties, municipal corporations, school systems, and all other political subdivisions of the State.

The Council also advises the State Chief Information Security Officer regarding the strategy and implementation of cybersecurity initiatives and recommendations. It provides advice and recommendations for building and sustaining the State's capability to identify, mitigate, and detect cybersecurity risk and how to respond to and recover from cybersecurity-related incidents.

​The State Chief Information Security Officer, who heads the Office of Security Management, chairs the council. The council has 11 members.​​
