The Office of Secretary, led by DoIT’s Chief of Staff, helps the Secretary, the Executive team, and greater agency achieve its legislative, communication, recruiting, and employee engagement goals. The office includes multiple executive assistants that streamline the efforts of the Executive team.
The Office of Legislative Affairs provides research and guidance to the other offices within DoIT, helping them craft legislation that advances the agency's vision of creating a more efficient, productive, and secure state government. It also serves as a liaison between the Maryland General Assembly, fostering strong partnerships with the legislature that ensure all related bills are effective and technically sound and help the state better serve its constituents.
DoIT’s communications Office publicizes DoIT’s services and accomplishments to other state agencies and the general public through orchestrating external events, social media, the DoIT website, and through relationships with the press. The communications office serves as a liaison between DoIT and the press, issuing press releases, answering media inquiries, and issuing statements in the event of an incident. The Communications office also serves as the primary point of contact for all Public Information Act requests.
DoIT’s Office of Employee Engagement helps organize internal events and communications to improve the working culture of the agency, ensuring all employees feel safe and valued in an environment that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive. The Office of Employee Engagement also assists with recruiting efforts, helping fill key roles that allow the agency to scale and fulfill its mission.
